Presentation of the Maison Royer
History of a Gros Gris (big grey) specialist
The Maison Royer company is located in a small village, in the heart of the bocage vendéen (Vendée countryside) : Saint-Paul-en-Pareds.
Created in 1989 with a main activity of producing and selling organic snails, La Maison Royer today produces 12 tonnes of snails per year, supplies 150 restaurants, and sells exceptional finished products: various vol au vents, canned snails, terrine, snail pearls...
For this, the Maison Royer has:
- 150 m² of entirely automated reproduction buildings;
- 4,200 m² of fattening pens;
- 170 m² of laboratories meeting European standards.
With its activity and experience, in January 2013, the Maison Royer decided to launch a new project: create a cosmetic range made from snail slime. A raw material not used up to now, that will be valued in the products. An ingenious idea, when you know the numerous and precious properties of snail slime.
The face cream was launched in October 2013, with the rest of the range a year later, at the end of 2014, for every skin type's delight !
